Enhancing Convenience for Inbound Travelers and New Users with App-Free Access –

INFORICH Inc. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Group CEO: Hironobu Akiyama), the operator of the mobile battery sharing service “CHARGESPOT™”, will begin installing a new CHARGESPOT model compatible with credit card tap and chip payments at three locations—including FamilyMart and Tokyu Kabukicho Tower—starting November 13, 2025.

Until now, CHARGESPOT rentals have primarily been conducted by scanning a QR code through the dedicated mobile app.
With the launch of the new credit card tap model in Japan, even users who do not have the app installed can easily rent a battery simply by tapping or inserting their credit card into the terminal.

The conventional app-based rental method will continue to be available as well, allowing users to choose the option that best suits their situation.　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

■ Background of the Credit Card Tap Model Launch
Currently, CHARGESPOT operates approximately 57,000 units across Japan, with usage by inbound travelers increasing year by year.

However, in many Western countries where credit card and contactless payments are the norm, users are often unfamiliar with QR code–based payments or app-based registration. As a result, there has been a growing need for a quick and intuitive rental experience that aligns with global user behavior.

By introducing the credit card tap model, CHARGESPOT aims to expand accessibility for users who do not use the app and for inbound travelers, while also offering a convenient solution for those whose phones have already run out of battery. This enables a more seamless and flexible user experience tailored to various situations.

■ Installation Details
The new model will be introduced at the following three locations starting November 13, 2025:

  • FamilyMart Ginza Miyuki-dori Store
  • Tokyu Kabukicho Tower (near the 2F entrance)
  • Shinjuku Golden Gai “Zeami”
• Installation Details: Credit Card Tap Model (10-slot type): 1 unit per location (total: 3 units)
• Supported Payment Cards: VISA, Mastercard, JCB, AMEX, DINERS

Going forward, we plan to gradually expand installation to airports, train stations, commercial facilities, and tourist destinations frequented by inbound travelers.

Through this initiative, CHARGESPOT aims to further enhance the user experience by providing a service that combines convenience and safety for everyone, wherever they are.
