Reintroducing a 165 Yen Fee for Rentals Under 30 Minutes to Ease the Impact of Rising Costs
INFORICH Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya, Tokyo; President & CEO: Hironobu Akiyama; hereinafter referred to as “INFORICH”), the operator of the mobile battery-sharing service “ChargeSPOT™”, will revise its pricing structure from 9:00 AM on May 1, 2025, reintroducing a 165 yen fee for rentals under 30 minutes.
This revision aims to create a more accessible environment for users, particularly those affected by recent price increases, allowing for more flexible and affordable short-term use of the service.
■ Background of the Pricing Revision
In July 2024, ChargeSPOT revised its minimum rental fee from 165 yen for under 30 minutes to 330 yen for under one hour. This change was based on user feedback indicating that “30 minutes is too short to return the battery in time,” along with data showing that over 60% of users return their rental within an hour.
However, following this change, a significant number of users expressed the need for a more affordable short-term rental option. Additionally, with the ongoing rise in living costs, many users—especially younger demographics—have sought more cost-effective charging solutions. In response, we have decided to reintroduce the 165 yen fee for rentals under 30 minutes.
