~By integrating childcare support services with mobile battery sharing, we aim to create business synergies and provide new experiential value~
INFORICH INC. (HQ: Shibuya, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hironobu Akiyama; hereafter referred to as “INFORICH”), the operator of the mobile battery-sharing service “ChargeSPOT™,” announces that it has acquired 73.06% of the issued shares of Trim Inc. (HQ: Yokohama, Kanagawa; Representative: Yusuke Hasegawa; hereafter referred to as “Trim”) on November 8, 2024. Through this acquisition, INFORICH aims to accelerate the installation of Trim’s private baby care rooms, “mamaro™,” by leveraging its extensive network of installation sites and expertise in international expansion. This synergy will create new value in both childcare support and mobile battery sharing.
■ Background of the Trim Acquisition
“mamaro™,” manufactured and sold by Trim, is a compact, fully private baby care room about the size of one tatami mat (circa 1.6m2) that can be used by individuals of any gender. Designed for breastfeeding, diaper changes, and feeding, these rooms are primarily installed in commercial and public facilities, stations, and leisure sites. As of the end of September 2024, a total of 793 units have been installed, with cumulative usage reaching one million instances. Each baby care room is equipped with a monitor, allowing for the distribution of advertisements. Trim’s estimates project a Total Available Market (TAM) of 250,000 units in Japan for “mamaro™.” With increasing public and private support for childcare assistance, further installations are anticipated.
Since its founding, INFORICH has pursued the mission of “Bridging Beyond Borders,” expanding its mobile battery-sharing service “ChargeSPOT” domestically and internationally. “ChargeSPOT” and Trim’s “mamaro™” both serve similar installation environments and age demographics. By leveraging its established network of installation sites, INFORICH aims to expand the reach of “mamaro™” installations and explore global expansion, particularly in areas where “ChargeSPOT” is already operational. Additionally, through its relationships with overseas partner factories, INFORICH anticipates achieving cost reductions in manufacturing, thus generating synergies in both revenue growth and cost savings.
■ Comment from Trim Inc. Representative Yusuke Hasegawa
To date, we have expanded ‘mamaro™’ nationwide across Japan, aiming to provide a better childcare environment. Going forward, with the extensive synergies anticipated with INFORICH—such as product upgrades, expanded service areas, and collaboration with ‘ChargeSPOT’—I am confident that we will further enhance and expand ‘better childcare environments’ worldwide. In childcare as well, we will work to realize ‘Bridging Beyond Borders’—connecting the world across boundaries.
■ Comment from INFORICH INC. President and CEO Hironobu Akiyama
With Trim joining our group, we believe that this marks a significant step forward in realizing the vision we have for our platform business by 2030. We expect to accelerate the installation of ‘mamaro™’ across the eight global regions where we already operate ‘ChargeSPOT,’ and to achieve great outcomes by mutually utilizing these sites. Guided by our mission of ‘Bridging Beyond Borders,’ INFORICH aims to create a richer and more convenient society. Through this M&A, we will bridge this initiative globally, bringing value to the parenting generation.
