Okinawa: “ChargeSPOT” to be installed at all 19 Yui Rail stations

INFORICH INC.(Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Hironobu Akiyama; hereafter INFORICH), operator of the mobile battery sharing service “ChargeSPOT®”, has begun the installation of ChargeSPOT machines on the Yui Rail, operated by Okinawa Urban Monorail, Inc. (Head office: Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture; President: Michitoshi Toketsu).

They are scheduled to be installed at all 19 stations between 7-10 October 2024, and are expected to create an environment where station users can easily rent mobile batteries, as well as to be used as warning boards in emergencies.

The installation at Naha Airport Station

■ Installation
Yui Rail, which opened in 2003, is the only railway in Okinawa Prefecture and is an important means of transport linking the centre of Naha City with tourist attractions and transport hubs. It provides easy access to Naha Airport, Okinawa’s main tourist attractions and commercial areas, and is used by nearby residents as well as tourists and business users.

The installation of “ChargeSPOT” at Naha Airport Station, the gateway for tourists to Okinawa, and other stations with access to many tourist attractions such as Shuri Castle and Kokusai Street, will enable travellers to stay longer at their destinations without worrying about recharging. In addition, as Okinawa is a frequent typhoon area, it is expected that the “ChargeSPOT” digital signage will be used as an emergency notice board to provide information on train operations during bad weather conditions.

In addition to providing a charging solution, “ChargeSPOT” is also expected to be widely used in the future as a base for disseminating information during emergencies.
