〜from August 7th. First installations in JR East Stations〜
INFORICH INC. (HQ: Shibuya, Tokyo, President and CEO: Hironobu Akiyama, here “INFORICH”), operator of the Mobile Battery Sharing Service “ChargeSPOT®” will install its “ChargeSPOT” service in JR Meguro Station from August 7th.
This is the first installation inside JR East stations and the installation in Meguro Station will be part of a trial. After careful examination of service utilization, INFORICH plans on expanding the service to other stations. By installing ChargeSPOTs within JR East stations, which are major transportation hubs in eastern Japan, we will continue to expand the scope of use of ChargeSPOT as important charging infrastructure.
■ Installation Background
The railway network, which covers a wide area of eastern Japan, is used not only for daily commuting to work or school, but also by many people traveling long distances for trips and returning home.
Should mobile phone batteries run out during a long journey, it will become difficult to communicate or gather information, which may pose additional risks in emergencies. In addition, due to the increase in prevalence of electronic payments via smartphones, insufficient battery power has become a serious issue for many mobile device users.
In light of this, we hope to make the charging environment more comfortable when traveling, and that the installation of “ChargeSPOT” will help avoid problems caused by insufficient charging within stations.
